Land Reclamation

Land reclamation is the idea of getting new land. It is usually done in coastal areas. Sometimes it is also done in areas like rivers and lakes. Usually, there is a natural process which fills such areas with sand, dirt and other materials. Land reclamation uses the same process, which is sped up.

Depending upon the type of fill material, foundation soil, topography of the seabed REVE Dredging and Engineering Team use multiple method for land reclamation. Riverbank Protection

Rivers of Bangladesh are unique in behavior because of its dimension, discharge, sediment characteristics and morph – dynamic activities. During the major rain events the river rises above its banks and flood local businesses and dwellings causing millions of dollars in property damage and possible loss of life.

Same type of protective work is not suitable for all types of river in Bangladesh. Sand
When the Bangladesh economy is in search of new items of export, two pre-potential export items namely sand has come to the fare. According to one reliable assessment, 1.670bn metric tons of sand and sediment come from the upstream of the Bangladeshi rivers and only about 2% or the same deposit on the river beds. The greater parts of the sand and sediments go down the sea. The rest are deposited in the banks of rivers.
We have opportunity to make millions in hard currencies by exporting sand and soil and contribute to the national economy and the prospect is around 700 to 1200 Core per year.

Geobags
Driven by the need for longer protection, the idea of using geotextile bags for permanent riverbank protection emerged in 2001. Riverbank revetments constructed of sand-filled geotextile bags have been developed in Bangladesh in response to the lack of traditional erosion-protection materials, particularly rock. Due to the inherent filter properties and better launching behavior of Geotextile Bag, especially the toe of the protected underwater slope, there are strong indications that its perform better than concrete blocks as underwater protection.
